Get ready to cast a line and chow down with your fellow anglers! Join Thermopolis Trout Unlimited for our annual Potluck Picnic and Fly Fishing Day at the stunning Medicine Lodge Archaeological Site. We've reserved the group campsite and picnic area, so there's plenty of space for everyone. You can cast your line right in the campground or follow the trail upstream for a chance to hook a wild rainbow or brown trout. Thermopolis Trout Unlimited will provide the main courses, so please bring a side dish or dessert to share.
It's the perfect opportunity to enjoy some fall dry fly fishing, good food, and great company in one of Wyoming’s most beautiful and historic locations. It’s about a 1.5 hour drive from Thermopolis and well worth the drive. Because we have the group campground you are welcome to camp for the night.

Ready to get your hands dirty for a good cause? Join us for our bi-annual river cleanup! We'll meet at the Wedding of the Waters parking lot at 9:00 a.m., split into teams, and tackle the canyon pull-overs, the Wedding of the Waters roadway area, and the WOW riverbank.
After a morning of hard work, we'll all meet back at noon for a well-deserved hamburger picnic. It's a great way to give back to our community and hang out with friends who love our local waterways as much as you do. See you there!

Thermopolis Trout Unlimited proudly presents the Iron Fly Competition, a thrilling showdown of creativity, skill, and speed! Inspired by the famous cooking show, this is your chance to prove you're the master of the vise.
Here's how it works: Competitors will be given a surprise "secret ingredient" — a tying material they must incorporate into their fly. With a strict time limit on the clock, you'll race to create a functional, fishable, and innovative fly.
A panel of expert judges will score each creation based on creativity, tying quality, and fishability. The winner will walk away with ultimate bragging rights and a fantastic prize!

We'll wrap things up by looking at this years upcoming fly-tying series, where we'll teach you how to tie some of the most productive flies for our local waters.

We will meet at Hot Springs State Park in the Pavilion by the boat ramp at 11:00 am

We will meet at the Wedding of the Waters. Have a quick safety meeting, and hand out gear like trash grabbers and safety vests.
Then… We break up into teams and clean up the pull overs in the Canyon the area around the Wedding of the Waters, and the 2mi highway section in front of the Wedding of the Waters.
Everyone will meet back at the Wedding of the Waters about 11:45 to celebrate a good job done and enjoy a hot dog picnic lunch!
